Throughout history Poland has been occupied by different neighbours and forces. Germany, Sweden, Russia amongst other ones. One of the most recent examples would be the Occupation of Poland in 1939. The Soviet Union and Nazi Germany agreed to split the country in half, whereby the country remained under occupation until the end of World War II. Tough luck indeed!
